Author's thoughts:
Multifaceted, multidimensional, overlapping, this is what unfolds before us, pieced together by perspective. What is so mysterious here? And yet, this composition, this marvel, which has coalesced over time, is utterly open in its splendor of color. "There's always too much gathered around you!" my brother Otto says whenever he visits. "You don't need any of that! Free yourself from it! There's more to it!" “He says. But I enjoy the gifts I have here; much of it serves my work. I don't have a secretary, no assistants, no one to help me. I gave a lot away last year, I donated a lot, and a lot was stolen. I only have one apartment now and don't need what was in both. I'm not cramped. I have plenty of room to breathe. I'm surrounded by empty walls, not just ones covered in pictures. I want to be open to new things, I want to be surprised! And I will let myself be surprised.”
