Introduction
This work was created from a conscious focus on light, reflection and the moment, and was subsequently printed on high-quality eco-paper.
Author's thoughts:
Am I looking down at our Earth right now, from here, or from another star or satellite?
Am I just seeing light reflected in blue glass?
What might this be that I am looking at, that is revealing itself here?
I pay attention to the nuances of blue, to the different shapes in white. It looks to me like the sea and an island within it, luminous. I'm glad to be here, right now, with both feet on the ground, not directly, but the floor beneath my feet on the second floor of this beautiful building dating back to Maria Theresa's time. I sit in peace, where I'm at home, where I've felt at home for half a century. When I turn my gaze, I see the greenery outside. It's beautiful here. It's peaceful. There's tranquility. I owe all this to my daughter's father, Peter, that dashing, decent, and resourceful fellow. I'm grateful for my daughter, grateful for this home, and grateful to him today, as I appreciate him as he deserves. On the courtyard side, the new world is moving in. It looks like New York in this old building in the heart of our beautiful Vienna.
